Diversity: explored through abstraction.
UAL Creative Practice: Year 2 Extended Diploma.

Students from Priestley College were invited to respond to the theme of diversity. In the wake of divisive political moments that have left us with a sense of heightened polarization, we asked the group to think about disrupting the narrative, exploring through representation and the breaking of stereotypes, the ways in which accepting diversity can lead to greater social cohesion. Through a series of workshops responding to processes and techniques used by a range of artists like Jadé Fadojutimi and Cecily Brown the students were introduced to abstraction and ran with it, to produce a collection of paintings all unique and original in just 6 weeks.
