Commissions: Festival Programme

Warrington Arts Festival is created with, by, and for the people of Warrington.

Through our yearlong collaboration with Warrington’s community, young people, and creatives, we celebrate our town through arts, culture, people, and place.

We bring this together at our large-scale vibrant summer festival, animating spaces across the town centre with an accessible and dynamic line-up of performances, events and activities.

By bringing together exceptional local and national creative talent, the programme aims to uplift, inspire, and celebrate audiences of all ages.

The festival has been providing a platform for Warrington creatives for more than a decade, and this year is relaunching after investment from the Arts Council England’s Place Partnership Fund.

As well as extending the festival’s scope and scale, we are also looking to programme more outdoor and family-friendly events, provide more opportunities for communities and young people to engage, and support more local creatives.

About the Opportunity

We are looking to fund new work that will be shown/realised at Warrington Arts Festival between 19 – 27 July 2024. We’re keen to hear from creatives working across any artform. Submissions could include a performance piece, static artwork, event, activity or installation.

We are not placing any restrictions on the activity or artform; however, we want proposals that resonate with our theme of celebrating Warrington through arts, culture, people, and place. We want to partner with creatives interested in connecting with our community, and in sharing work that resonates.

  • This commission is open to creative individuals and organisations who are based in, from, or connected to Warrington.
  • Application deadline is Monday, 25 March 2024, 10am.

Applicants can apply for between £1,000 and £4,000. Successful applicants will also receive in-kind producing support, technical/production support and rehearsal space (subject to availability).
